National Parks are home to many of our nation's National Monuments, Historical Trails, Historical Sites, and Scenic Rivers. They are filled with great beauty and an abundance of American history. Operating hours and seasonal closures should be checked carefully prior to planning a visit. If you plan on frequenting the National Parks, the National Park Foundation does offer a yearly pass for $50. This pass will cover everyone in your car and you, your spouse, your children, and your parents where there is a per visitor fee required. If you opt to pay per visit, make sure to check for parking pass and/or entry fee requirements before you go. (Sometimes waiting or not knowing where to obtain a parking pass can send you on a wild goose chase!) Some do have lodging, but several do not. So, make sure to plan ahead and make reservations if you plan on staying overnight. Also, if you're visiting with children, don't forget to check and see if the park you're visiting has a Junior Ranger Program. These programs are both fun and educational. Each is unique to the park you're visiting and the children can collect different badges, stickers, and booklets. |
