State Parks can be a great location for a family outing, hike or other outdoor adventure. Many have cabin rentals, campgrounds, boating, nature centers, and other cultural, historical, or scenic treasures within them. Many state parks require parking passes or entry fees, so check carefully before you go. Some of the campsites require early reservations, so make sure you check that too. Also, if you're visiting with children, don't forget to check and see if the state park you're visiting has a Junior Ranger Program. These programs are both fun and educational. Each is unique to the park you're visiting and the children can collect different badges, stickers, and booklets. |
