Organizing Dorm Rooms

Professional Organizer, Chris McKenry's Dorm Room Organizing Tips

  Organizing Dorm Rooms

Dorm rooms will become retreats for comfortable living, stimulated creativity, and a place to achieve high grades. An organized dorm room will help a college student to make the most out of their new experience.

“When a student’s environment is organized, the complications of college life are manageable and learning is stimulated,” says Chris McKenry, Professional Organizer.

Dorm Room Organizing Tips:

  • Have a plan before heading off to school.
  • Visit your new college home and assess needs before making purchases for organizing supplies.
  • Create a personal packing check list.
  • Avoid clutter by bringing only items that will be useful.
  • Use a double hang area in the closet for short hang items.
  • Contact roommates and be sure large items such as microwaves and televisions are not being duplicated.

Get It Together LA! will give College Organizing Tips, a brochure, to the first 100 students Saturday. Door prizes include two tickets to the House of Blues Sunday Gospel Brunch and a Student Organizing Survival Kit. Presentations are at 12 noon and 2:00 pm, Organized Living, 110 South Fairfax in Los Angeles. So come early and take advantage of special offers during this fun day.
