| "I don't even care whether I
catch a fish or not, just so long as I'm out on the water. When
I'm bass fishing, I catch and release. If you don't release the
fish, there won't be any left."
Arlis' favorite fishing spot for
bass is Lake Cachuma, but he also frequents Santa Margarita, San
Antonio, and Casitas.
He prefers fiberglass 6 ½ - 7
foot pole with casting reels or spinning reels and owns an
incredible assortment of plastic worms, jigs, rubber lures, and
crank baits. He "tests" the water by using a variety of
this selection until he finds something that works. If he still
doesn't have any luck, he'll resort to a new spot and use his
sonar fish finder. He has had success and adventures in pursuing
this pastime all the way from Canada to Mexico. Like most
fishermen he has a lot of "fish tales " to tell.
