Brave Doggie by Alison Cann |

| Four years ago a young German Shepard
turned up at my office hungry and lonely. My heart melted. With the help
of two of my colleagues, we bundled this doggie into my car and I took it
home. She turned out to be the most loving, loyal, affectionate, goofy doggie. We named her "Seven" (my husband is a big Star Trek fan.) She loved our other dogs and our mad cat, too. Seven soon became a much loved member of the family. About a month ago, we bought a new house and all moved to Sylmar! While we were sleeping, a would-be burglar broke in through the front door and Seven was awakened. She chased the burglar into the street- out into a new, completely unfamiliar neighborhood. We woke to find the front door open... and no Seven. We put up flyers everywhere, pounded the pavements, and received more than 40 calls from people who had spotted her. Five nights later, we found her in a park! Her fur was full of stickers and burrs, but she was fine. We will be eternally thankful for her loyalty and grateful to everyone who prayed we'd find her. Seven is a true hero and we are blessed to have her in our lives. |
